BREAKING: President Buhari reappoints Danbatta as NCC’s EVC

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the reappointment of Professor Umar Garba Danbatta as the Executive Vice Chairman, Nigerian Communications Commission.
According to a statement from the spokesperson to the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Mrs. Uwa Suleiman, the approval of the recommendation of the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Pantami for a second term by the President was to allow for consolidation of the gains made in the telecommunications sector in line with the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy.

While wishing Danbatta the best, Minister Pantami directed him to significantly improve on the overall performance of the commission as well as ensure that adequate mechanisms are put in place to facilitate the implementation of all policies of federal government through the Ministry.
He enjoined him to ensure that the interest of telecommunication consumers, Nigerians and investors are adequately protected.
Furthermore, the Honourable Minister enjoined him to ensure that the interest of telecommunication consumers, Nigerians and investors are adequately protected.
Professor Danbatta assumed office for a first term in office in 2015, and is believed to have served to the pleasure of the President in tandem with the current administration’s agenda to actualize a digital economy in the country.
