More than 50 students of Babcock University have been trained in low-code application development under a youth-focused digital empowerment initiative aimed at equipping young Nigerians with practical technology and innovation skills.
The three-day intensive program, held through the Babcock Centre for Executive Development (BCED), introduced students from diverse fields such as Computer Science, Business, and Information Technology, to low-code tools for building business-ready software solutions without advanced programming knowledge.

Through guided workshops, participants learned to design, develop, and deploy custom business applications using Zoho Creator, a cloud-based low-code development platform.
Zoho explained that the sessions emphasised problem-solving, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation, helping students understand how technology can be leveraged to address real-world business challenges.
According to Kehinde Ogundare, Country Head of Zoho Nigeria, the initiative forms part of Zoho’s broader effort to support local talent development and innovation.
“We aim to empower young innovators to build solutions that solve real business challenges while preparing them for a technology-driven future,” Ogundare said.
Dr. Ayodeji Ajibade, Director of the Babcock Entrepreneurship Development Centre (BEDC), described the collaboration as a vital step in preparing students for leadership in a rapidly evolving digital economy.
“Partnerships like this provide our students with access to industry-standard tools and hands-on experience that bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world application,” he explained.
The initiative also marks the beginning of a wider collaboration between Zoho and Babcock University’s executive development arm, with plans to introduce additional training programs, interactive workshops, and innovation-driven events. Discussions are underway to integrate digital business tools into the university’s entrepreneurship curriculum.
Since its global launch in 2022, the Young Creators Program has trained over 2,000 students worldwide, empowering young people to pursue technology careers and build innovative solutions for the modern business environment.
