Nigerian prominent politicians, business tycoons grace Unique Mall opening in Ibadan

Prominent political and business heavyweights on Saturday, 20 December, thronged the University of Ibadan-Samonda Road in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, to witness the opening of a one-stop mart established to provide job opportunities and support the local economy in the state.

Dignitaries, including the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 governorship election in Oyo State, Teslim Folarin; the Senator representing Oyo North Senatorial District, Abdulfatai Buhari; member of the House of Representatives representing Afijio/Atiba/Oyo East and Oyo West Federal Constituency, Akeem Adeyemi, and the Chief Executive Officer of Global Legend Integrated Concept, Ibrahim Ajibola, among numerous others, were on hand to witness the historic event.

Established by the family of a respected businessman and President/Chief Executive Officer of HMF Construction Limited, Idris Adeoye, a fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, the mall has as its director, Fatimah Adeoye.

Ms Adeoye, who pledged satisfactory experience for customers, noted that the family’s love for the country’s growth and development informed the decision to establish the mall, among other investments.  

Folarin, others speak     

Speaking at the event, Mr Folarin said the mall will go a long way to add value to the economy of the state, noting that investing in Nigeria by Nigerians is a better decision to empower the people and contribute to President Bola Tinubu’s efforts towards reviving the nation’s economy.

Mr Folarin said, “This is an investment that will create jobs and add more value to the economy of the state. I am always excited when I see people doing things like this. What this man has done for his family and the people of this state is worthy of emulation. 

“And besides creating a pleasant shopping experience, this will create more jobs, and the state will also benefit in terms of the generation of taxes. So, it is a win-win situation.”

While cutting the tape to commission the mall, the Chief Executive Officer of Global Legend Integrated Concept, Mr. Ajibola, a business tycoon, prayed for the continued success of the business, even as he encouraged other businessmen and women to invest in the country to help humanity.

Similarly, the Director of Legal and Corporate Services of HMF Construction Limited, Lekan Alabi, and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Al-Basith Investment Nigeria Limited, Kehinde Arogundade, congratulated the founder and management of the mall, wishing them continued growth and excellence.

“While others are stashing resources away in tax havens, patriotic Nigerians who are investing in our economy, like the family of Engineer Adeoye, must be commended for their love and passion for this country. We can only pray for their continued growth and progress. We also urge Nigerians who may be offered employment opportunities here to be dedicated and sincere. 

Appreciation

While thanking the guests, well-wishers, and customers who witnessed the ceremony, the director of the mall, Ms Adeoye, also applauded her parents, Mr and Mrs Adeoye, for being entrusted with the investment.  

She said, “I express my heartfelt gratitude to Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin, Senator Fatai Buhari, Alahji Tajudeen Ajibola, Alhji Kehinde Arogundade, Honourable Adeyemi, and other well-meaning Nigerians who are too numerous to mention, for being part of our history.
