First Bank Deepens Digital Banking Footprint with Launch of Abuja Xperience Centre

In a major stride toward a technology-driven future, FirstBank, the West African premier financial institution and financial inclusion services provider, has launched a new FirstBank Digital Xperience Centre (DXC)  in Area 10, Abuja, reaffirming its ambition to become Nigeria’s most digitally advanced financial institution.

The Group CEO, Olusegun Alebiosu said the Centre exemplifies the bank’s digital-first strategy, blending automation, self-service, and cybersecurity to redefine customer engagement.

“We are building the bank of the future,” Alebiosu stated. “Our customers can open accounts, make transfers, or complete most transactions digitally. The Xperience Centre complements that by providing 24/7 self-service banking for cash and other essential transactions.”

Alebiosu highlighted First Bank’s adoption of artificial intelligence, biometric verification, and multi-layered authentication systems to combat financial fraud and enhance transaction security.

“We use a tripartite security confirmation, account details, biometrics, and phone number, to verify transactions and protect our customers,” he said.

With seven Digital Xperience Centres already operational nationwide and a new branch set to open in Kano, FirstBank plans to expand further into Nsukka, Benin, and Ibadan, based on customer demand.

Commending the development, Senator Babangida Hussaini described the project as “a testament to First Bank’s foresight in leveraging technology for financial inclusion.”

Idris Ado Ibrahim, Group Executive, Retail Banking North Division, added that the Centres are engineered to enhance efficiency, reduce waiting times, and elevate customer experience.
