Verification App Identigo

In a bid to boost employers trust in recruitment and other security checks, an identity verification product app named “Identigo” has been launched in Nigeria.

Speaking at the unveiling of the brand at Lekki in Lagos, the Executive Director of Identigo, Ms Olabusayo Soetan, said the app is to rebuild trust, strengthen security and support decision making across the nation.

She said the app is about “background checks and building a more reliable Nigeria, one that stands firm in the face of fraud and uncertainty, and one that international partners can trust to do business with.”

While noting the many challenges encountered by Nigerians from domestic help with unknown identity, Soetan said the app will assist individuals, private organisations, schools and government verify their employees, certificates and land documents, among others to serve as preventive security rather than curative security.

She said: “This is a proud and important moment for us, the official launch of Identigo. But more than a launch, this is a mission. A mission to rebuild trust, strengthen security, and support better decision-making across Nigeria.

“At Identigo, we believe in preventive security, not curative. We don’t wait for things to go wrong before we act. We work to stop them from going wrong in the first place. We empower our clients with the information they need to prevent fraud, avoid misjudgments, and protect what matters.

“We do this by offering a wide range of background verification services — from NIN and BVN verification, to address confirmation, passport authentication, employment history, state of origin, guarantor checks, and more. But it’s not just what we offer, it’s how we do it.

“We are also investing heavily in technology and accessibility. We have built a platform that allows individuals and businesses to request and receive verifications directly from their phones or computers.

“We are also tackling a deeper issue, the problem of false and conflicting data in national records. When our systems are filled with inconsistencies, people make bad decisions. Businesses pull back. Governments hesitate. International partners lose confidence. We are committed to helping clean up this ecosystem so that people can trust the records they see and act on them without second-guessing.”

Explaining how the app works, the National Coordinator of the Brand, Mr. Abdulqowyyi Busari, said the app is available on playstore on Android phones and app store on i-phones with a call on Nigerians to embrace the development to avoid falling into scammers web.

Also speaking during the launching, the Head of Marketing and Communications of Tantacom Group, Mr. John Fadejola, reiterated his organisation partnership and commitment to building a more secure, transparent, and trustworthy business landscape with Identigo in Africa through delivering seamless, techdriven, and preventative security solutions.

He said: “The partnership between Identigo and Tantacom Group is grounded in a mutual commitment to building a more secure, transparent, and trustworthy business landscape in Africa. As Identigo leads the charge in redefining the background verification space and delivering seamless, tech-driven, and preventative security solutions; Tantacom has been entrusted to ensure this innovation reaches the right people, with the right message, at the right time.

“With Identigo, our mission is clear. We at Tantacom are proud to walk alongside Identigo on this journey, and we look forward to

the transformation this partnership will inspire.”
