Speaking on the event, the Publisher and CEO of eBusiness Life Communication Limited, Mrs. Ufuoma Emouphedaro noted: “The Award is geared at identifying women that have excelled in the various sectors of the Nigerian economy, applauding their efforts and feats, and honouring them with the “WOMAN OF EXCELLENCE” Award to encourage them to do more.”
She further noted that organisations that have been at the forefront of encouraging women to attain greater heights will also be recognised during the Night of Awards.
In her position, the CEO of TECHlife Media and Communications Limited, Ugochi Emmanuel explained that the Awardees for the maiden edition were carefully chosen from a lineup of women doing great things in the various sectors of the economy. She noted that in the coming awards, more women will be recognized.
She said: “We know that a whole lot of women are doing great things in the different sectors of our economy. In the past few years, the number of women entrepreneurs and women that have climbed the professional ladders to the peak have increased, and we are expecting more to join. This is the essence of the Awards, to tell them that they are appreciated and to encourage them to do more in terms of dedication to their duties and raising younger versions of themselves.”
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) will lead other corporate organisations to attend the event. The regulator has been an ardent supporter of women growth in corporate organisations and self-development.
The Evening of Awards, coincidentally follows with the 2023 International Women’s month celebration tagged #BreaktheBias, which tends to further throw light on the inputs of women in the development and growth of Nigeria’s socio-economic wellbeing, while also encouraging a socio-economic environment devoid of gender bias and discrimination.
According to the organisers, the event is not meant to bring undue gender competition. Editor of eBusiness Life Communication Limited, Mr. Chidiebere Nwankwo explains further: “While it is not intended to create an unhealthy competition among the genders, the Awards will spur women to attain greater heights in the area of corporate responsibility. Therefore men that support women will also be in attendance to continue their support. It will also be an evening of networking for both genders.
To this end we solicit your support and partnership in making the evening a memorable one for all Awardees and women participants.”
