Airtel Africa Plc has acquired an additional 798,919 ordinary shares under its ongoing share buyback programme, taking the total number of shares purchased since the programme began to 19.91 million.
The telecommunications company said the latest purchases were made on September 18, 2026, through Barclays Capital Securities Limited, in line with the authority granted by shareholders for the buyback programme announced on May 22, 2026.
The shares were purchased at prices ranging from 318.80 pence to 326.80 pence per share, with a volume-weighted average price of 322.5861 pence.
Airtel Africa said the purchased shares will be cancelled.
The latest acquisition was executed across five trading venues, with 388,000 shares purchased through the London Stock Exchange at an average price of 322.84 pence.
BATS Europe accounted for 239,762 shares at an average of 321.74 pence, while 106,022 shares were acquired through CHI-X Europe at 323.44 pence.
A further 48,046 shares were purchased through Aquis Exchange at an average of 322.64 pence, while Turquoise accounted for 17,089 shares at 323.28 pence.
Since the commencement of the programme on May 22, Airtel Africa said it has purchased 19,907,874 ordinary shares at a volume-weighted average price of 336.05 pence per share.
The company also provided details of individual transactions executed by Barclays, including the volume, price, trading venue and transaction reference for each purchase.
The latest transaction forms part of Airtel Africa’s continued implementation of the share buyback programme, under which the acquired shares are to be cancelled.
