… As CIBN produces 962 new chartered bankers; certifies 1,864 graduands
As coronavirus pandemic gives momentum to digital economy drive around the world, bankers and other financial experts across the globe are about to gather virtually to examine the digital economy of the Nigeria.
This will be done with a view to articulating strategies for moving the economy forward leveraging digital technology.

This is coming under the auspices of The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) Graduates Induction and Prize awards Day.
BusinessMetricsNG gathered via a press statement signed Sunday by Nelson Olagundoye,
head of corporate communications and external relations of CIBN that the institute will be awarding certificates to over 1,864 candidates who have successfully completed the various qualifying professional examinations of the Institute in the year 2019.
The maiden Virtual Graduates Induction and Prizes Awards Ceremony is scheduled to hold on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 11.00 a.m.
According to the statement, the new members to be admitted would consist of 899 newly qualified Associates, 37 Chartered Banker MBA graduates, 26 ACIB/MSC candidates and 902 Microfinance bankers.
A lecture titled: “Digital Economy: The Role of Professional Bankers” will be delivered by Prof. Olayinka David-West, Professor of Information System, Academic Director, Lagos Business School (LBS).
Similarly, Isa Pantami, the minister of communications and digital economy will grace the occasion as special guest of honour alongside Kingsley Obiora, Deputy Governor, Economic policy, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) while Bayo Olugbemi, FCIB, president/chairman of council, CIBN, will chair the occasion.
“The ceremony which will attract distinguished members of the banking community, corporate organizations, fellows, honorary senior members and associates and well-wishers will witness the presentation of variousprizes to Graduands who have distinguished themselves in the qualifying examinations.
