The Executive Adviser, Presidential Special Envoy on investment, Ambassador Tosin Sanusi, urged investors and entrepreneurs to explore the vast economic opportunities in Liberia, highlighting the country’s untapped potential across key sectors.
According to him, the country is exploring strategic collaborations and partnerships to fosters stronger economic ties and attract investment to unleash the diverse benefits Liberia offers to Africa and the global market.
The team collaborated with Liberia’s National Investment Commission (NIC), Central Bank of Liberia (CBL), Ministry of Agriculture and other strategic institutions to discuss growth areas that promise high returns.
Highlighted sectors included agriculture, housing, real estate, tourism and transport systems, all of which represent significant untapped value.
Amb. Sanusi highlighted Liberia’s unique advantages such as its dual currency system, which allows both the Liberian dollar and the US dollar as legal tender.
According to him, this system, coupled with government incentives such as 100% profit repatriation and tax exemptions, provides an attractive environment for both local and international investors.
He said a critical pillar of the Liberian economy, the agricultural sector, offers enormous opportunities for smallholder farmers and agribusinesses.
The Ministry of Agriculture’s efforts to improve infrastructure, refine land use policy and improve market access signal the government’s commitment to supporting growth in this vital area, Amb. Sanusi explained.
Meanwhile, he noted that the country’s rich cultural heritage, stunning natural landscape and diverse wildlife make it an emerging destination for tourism investments with opportunities to develop world-class attractions and hospitality businesses.
Amb. Sanusi also lauded Liberia’s leadership in creating a favorable environment for investment and reaffirmed the country’s potential as a center for economic growth and innovation in West Africa.
He called on investors from Nigeria, Africa and the rest of the world to take advantage of these opportunities to promote mutual prosperity while contributing to Liberia’s development goals.
