EFCC demands asset declaration from bankers
Abdulrasheed Bawa, the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Tuesday said the commission would from June 1 be demanding the asset declaration forms of bankers.

He said the decision was in line with the provisions of the Bank, Employees Declaration of Asset Act.
Bawa disclosed this in an interview with State House correspondents after a meeting he had with President Muhammadu Buhari.
The EFCC boss said he was working hard towards creating a new commission that would be different in the way it handles cases
He said he would do his job to ensure that Nigeria is free of financial crimes.
He said, “The EFCC, come June 1, 2021, will be demanding for this asset declaration forms, filled by the bankers so that the line that we have drawn from June 1 is really complied with by bankers in particular.”
On why the EFCC is after cybercriminals, Bawa said their activities were chasing investors.
