NASD OTC Securities Exchange Index closed last week in the red as the NASD Security Index (NSI) which measures price movement in the market decreased by 0.10 per cent to close the week at 744.9 points against 745.65 on Friday November 22, 2021.

The week 47 saw NASD investors lose ₦0.62 Billion in value. Consequently, NASD OTC Market capitalization closed at ₦615.42 billion compared to ₦616.04 billion the previous week resulting from a negative movement in prices.

However, the market closed on a Positive note year-to-date (YTD) as the market recorded an increase in performance.

Turnover defies bear pressure

Despite the decline in the aggregate value of the market, there was a 105.64 per cent increase in the total value traded shares during the week.

Specifically, the week saw NASD Investors trade a total of ₦34.844 million in value compared to ₦16.945 million in the previous week. Meanwhile, total trade activity for the year is valued at ₦29.974 billion.

In terms of total volume traded during the week, 2.343 million units of unquoted shares exchanged hands among investors relative to 782,454 units in the previous week leading to a 199.56 per cent increase in trade volume compared to week 46. Total volume traded for the year is 12.793 billion units.

Top Traded Securities by Volume

The week closed with Central Securities Clearing Systems PLC ranking top among the five most traded securities by volume and NIPCO PLC as the fifth most traded stock by volume traded in the week.

Measures by volume, CSCS PLC traded 1,579,901 units of security, followed by UBN PROP that saw 500,000 units of its shares traded by investors, while NASD PLC followed suit with 259,600 share units. Next on the chart are WAMCO ANS NIPCO, trading 3,100 and 1,000 shares dying the week.

Top Traded Securities by Values

The week closed with Central Securities Clearing Systems PLC ranking top among the five most traded securities by value and NIPCO PLC stood as the fifth most traded Security by value for the week.

Specifically, CSCS Plc traded N27,330,629 worth of shares, NASD PLC trailed distantly with N6,545,995 followed by UBN PROP with N450,000. Other top traded values were WAMCO and NIPCO with N373,100 and N80,000 respectively.
