Mrs. Hakama Sidi Ali, Head of Corporate Communications at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has once again been honored as the country’s leading spokesperson in the banking sector.

She received the “Outstanding Spokesperson (Banking Sector)” award at the 2025 National Spokespersons Awards (NSA), marking her second consecutive win in the prestigious and competitive category. Other distinguished nominees included Amaechi Okobi of Access Holdings.

The award ceremony took place on Thursday at the Abuja Continental Hotel, serving as the grand finale of the 2025 Nigeria Spokespersons Summit. The event was organized by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in collaboration with Image Merchants Promotion Limited (IMPR), publishers of PRNigeria and Spokespersons Digest.

Now in its fifth year, the NSA celebrates excellence, innovation, and professionalism in public communications across Nigeria’s public and private sectors.

Mrs. Sidi Ali was lauded for her proactive and strategic communication approach, especially in countering misinformation about the alleged introduction of N5,000 and N10,000 banknotes. Her swift and effective messaging helped calm public concerns, averted panic-driven bank withdrawals, and supported financial system stability.

She was also commended for her communication efforts during Nigeria’s recent diplomatic engagement with the United States over newly introduced tariffs. Her clear and composed articulation of the CBN’s stance contributed to easing tensions and maintaining productive dialogue between both nations.
