They were confirmed after the Chairman of the Senate Committee on capital market, presented his report. “The committee recommends that the senate confirm the four nominees as appointed by Mr President, the commander-in-chief of the armed forces of Nigeria for the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)”.
It would be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari had written, in May 2020, to the Nigerian Senate to confirm Lamido Yuguda, as the Director General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the three commissioners.
Lamido Yuguda will now replace Ms Mary Uduk who had been acting as the Director General of the Securities and Exchange Commission since April 2018.
