A digital wealth management and investment firm, Zedcrest Wealth on Tuesday inaugurated a groundbreaking, user-friendly, digital platform, Zedcrest Academy, aimed at democratising investment knowledge and increasing financial literacy among Nigerians.

The Group Managing Director, Zedcrest Wealth, Mr. Adedayo Amzat, said this at the unveiling of the platform in Lagos.

Amzat said that the initiative sought to empower citizens whether financially excluded or seasoned professionals, by helping them manage their personal and business finances better.

According to him, a lack of financial knowledge often leads to the collapse of otherwise successful businesses.

“A very simple pronouncement by the Central Bank can be the end of a big industry. So, even though you are an expert in a field, you cannot escape being an expert in finance,” he said.

Amzat said that the Zedcrest Wealth Academy, developed within 15 months of intense research and ideation, was designed to build financial expertise from the foundational to the advanced stages.

He said that the key goal was to provide a discreet, accessible, and comfortable learning environment.

The group managing director said that beyond education, Zedcrest Wealth was focused on mobilising capital through increased savings and investment options accessible for as low as N1,000 and catering to a wide audience.

Amzat expressed confidence that, by empowering individuals to become financially literate, they would become more confident investors.

He said that the relationship between empowered individuals and Zedcrest Wealth as an asset manager would be symbiotic in which it earned the trust of Nigerians to manage their savings, ultimately driving national prosperity.

Speaking on financial inclusion, the Zedcrest boss identified the low household savings-to-GDP ratio as a major challenge to infrastructural development and economic growth in Nigeria.

He said that the whole idea of Zedcrest Wealth was to democratise investment opportunities for everyone.

He linked increased savings and investing to the overall prosperity of the economy, including the growth of banks and the pension fund industry.

“The more money we invest, the more we can now do bigger infrastructure in Nigeria.”

Also speaking on the features of the Zedcrest Wealth Academy, Adetayo Jinadu, Product Marketing Lead, Zedcrest Wealth, said the academy was a user-friendly platform designed to integrate learning, saving, and investing in one ecosystem.

“We built the platform to combine education with real-world action. You can learn in the academy, save, and invest, all within the same app,” he said.

According to him, this unified approach prevents users from having to navigate multiple applications to learn and implement financial decisions.

Product Marketing Analyst, Ifeoluwakiishi Akintayo, said a key feature of the application was its emphasis on making financial literacy fun and rewarding.

“The system uses interactive elements like quizzes alongside a points-based reward mechanism, which users can redeem for everyday items like transportation, food, and entertainment on Uber, Chowdeck, and Circuits.

According to him, the ultimate gain for the company is seeing users become knowledgeable and confident in their financial decisions. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
