Sterling Financial Holdings Company Plc recorded a 64 per cent year-on-year increase in third-quarter profit before tax to N41.75 billion in 2026, compared with N25.41 billion in the corresponding period of 2025, as operating income rose despite higher credit loss expenses.
The group’s operating income increased 43 per cent to N113.64 billion from N79.42 billion, while net operating income after impairment rose 27 per cent to N97.21 billion from N76.55 billion, according to its unaudited financial statements for the period ended September 30, 2026.

Other operating income climbed 77 per cent to N18.04 billion from N10.22 billion. However, net fees and commission income declined eight per cent to N12.76 billion from N13.81 billion, partly moderating the growth in revenue.
