MTN Group Appoints Ikenna Ikeme as Group Regulatory Affairs Executive

MTN Group has appointed Ikenna Ikeme, General Manager of Regulatory Affairs at MTN Nigeria, as Executive for Group Regulatory Affairs, effective September 7, 2026.
Ikeme will oversee the group’s regulatory agenda across its African markets, including regulatory governance, policy advocacy, risk management and engagement with regulators.

He brings more than 30 years of experience across telecommunications, banking and insurance.
At MTN Nigeria, he has worked on regulatory matters involving 5G licensing, spectrum transactions, national roaming and infrastructure sharing.
His appointment comes as MTN faces increasingly complex regulatory issues across its markets, including scrutiny surrounding its proposed acquisition of IHS Nigeria.
MTN also appointed Ashutosh Tiwary as Operations Executive for Francophone Markets, effective September 1, 2026.
He will oversee operations across Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Benin and Congo Brazzaville.
