Moniepoint Inc. has partnered with the African Leadership University (ALU) School of Business to launch an executive education programme designed to develop future technology leaders and strengthen its leadership pipeline as the fintech expands its operations across Africa.
The Moniepoint ALU partnership introduces a 13-week executive development programme that will equip managers with leadership, strategic management and data-driven decision-making skills required to drive digital transformation and support the company’s long-term growth.
According to Moniepoint, the initiative reflects its commitment to investing in human capital while contributing to Nigeria’s digital economy and Africa’s broader technology ecosystem.
The executive programme combines physical immersion sessions, live virtual classes and self-directed learning, offering participants a blended learning experience tailored to the demands of today’s technology-driven business environment.
The curriculum is organised around two core learning tracks:
- Strategic Management and Leadership
- Data-Driven Decision-Making
Moniepoint said the programme is designed to improve leadership effectiveness, strategic thinking, communication, organisational management and evidence-based decision-making among its managers.
The fintech added that strengthening leadership capabilities is essential as it continues to scale its digital financial infrastructure and expand services for businesses and consumers across the continent.
Moniepoint CEO Emphasises Local Talent Development
Speaking on the partnership, Group Chief Executive Officer of Moniepoint Inc., Tosin Eniolorunda, said the company views leadership development as a strategic investment in Africa’s future.
“We consider it a huge privilege, given our market leadership, to drive the empowerment of bold, transformational professionals for the financial services industry. Execution is everything in this game, and execution is a leadership problem before it’s anything else.”
Eniolorunda said Nigeria’s ambition to build a globally competitive digital economy depends on developing skilled professionals locally rather than relying on external expertise.
“If we want Nigeria’s digital economy to compete globally, we can’t outsource the people who run it; we have to build them deliberately here. In creating financial happiness for Africans everywhere, the leaders who come through this programme will be the ones who decide whether Moniepoint’s infrastructure actually reaches the small business owner in Onitsha or Kano the way it’s supposed to.”
He noted that Moniepoint’s continued growth has been driven by sustained investment in people alongside technology.
“The ecosystem’s growth is inseparable from the strength of the people who lead it. Moniepoint’s own meteoric growth stems from a dedicated focus on building critical digital infrastructure that powers millions of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. In an industry where technological disruption is continuous and competition is intensifying, this investment in human capital is non-negotiable in building a resilient leadership ecosystem.”
Programme to Support Digital Economy Growth
Moniepoint said the executive education programme aligns with Nigeria’s digital economy agenda by combining technical expertise, human-centred leadership and analytical capabilities.
The curriculum will be delivered by faculty members from the African Leadership University alongside industry practitioners, including Dr Olugbenga Afolabi, Group Chief Executive Officer of Hazon Holdings and founder of the Eko Innovation Centre, and Dr Omowale Crenshaw, co-founder of Grupo Mecca Colombia and a former McKinsey consultant.
Participants will also receive training in leadership communication, organisational management, evidence-based decision-making and environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles.
According to the company, the programme is designed to prepare managers to navigate evolving technological, operational and regulatory challenges facing the financial services industry.
Moniepoint said strengthening internal leadership capacity will improve its ability to expand access to digital financial services for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and individuals across Africa.
The company believes investing in leadership development will support innovation, improve operational execution and strengthen its contribution to financial inclusion.
As Africa’s fintech ecosystem continues to mature, companies are placing greater emphasis on executive education and workforce development to build resilient organisations capable of responding to rapid technological change and increasing competition.
Moniepoint said its collaboration with ALU reflects a long-term commitment to developing future-ready leaders who can sustain innovation and deliver inclusive financial services across the continent.
