GTBank Named Nigeria’s Best Performing Bank in Global 2026 Ranking

Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) has emerged as Nigeria’s best overall performing bank in The Banker’s Top 1000 World Banks Rankings 2026, cementing its position as one of the country’s leading financial institutions.

The flagship banking subsidiary of Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc secured the top position among Nigerian banks in the globally recognised ranking, which evaluates financial institutions based on audited financial performance and operational indicators.

The ranking assesses banks across key metrics including financial strength, profitability, operational efficiency, liquidity, growth, risk management and capital adequacy.

Beyond emerging as the highest-ranked Nigerian bank overall, GTBank also topped the rankings in the Efficiency and Soundness categories, highlighting the lender’s strong operational performance and balance sheet resilience.

The bank further ranked second in Return on Risk, Liquidity, Growth, Leverage and Profitability, demonstrating consistent performance across major banking indicators.

Commenting on the recognition, Miriam Olusanya described the award as a reflection of the collective efforts of the bank’s employees, customers and stakeholders.
